Suspicious of ‘The Pickup Artist”?

I don’t think it was some random club. Notice how the woman went up to the so called pickup artists as soon as they walk in the door? Before they even said anything the girls were talking to them. I think it could have been that they were taller then the other guys and dressed funky. Also, the things they were saying to the girls didn’t impress me. They weren’t any different then the things I say to girls all the time and I’m no pick up artist. There’s a long way from chatting girls up to getting a relationship going or getting them into bed. Who is this Mystery guy anyway? Is he some rock star?

I’d like to know what the ladies think of what they saw.

  2. I’m just saying…I did not find any of those 3 attractive or funny or anything and if any of the 3 “professional” pick-up artists came up to me and said/did what they did, the conversation would be over QUICK! None of them were cute, and did you see how many girls they asked to buy THEM drinks. I’d think they were homeless or something. Ick.

  4. A guy asking a girl to buy him a drink is pathetic, and I would have told him HELL NO!!! I’ve actually got self esteem!

  6. I’m not a lady, but my 2 cents…. I’m suspicious of anyone proclaiming to be an expert “pickup artist” who will then go on TV and “teach” someone to be one. I’m also suspicious of them going into a club they have prepped with cameras as fair ground to test their expertise. If they’ve set up cameras, how can we be sure they haven’t seeded the club with “friendly” assistance.

No doubt the “students” they’ve selected are in need of help in the social graces and a confidence boost. But I also am suspicious that maybe these guys are playing up their geekiness for the sake of the show. Compared to “Beauty and the Geek”, there just seems to be a level of sincerity lacking from their behavior.

However, I will give some credit. I’m reading a book on psychology of social interaction and persuassion…. I do have to give the “experts” credit in that they are following some of the same techniques and strategies in this book. But since they were once geeks too, there’s no doubt that they read a book on the subject.
